The Superintendent of MiraCosta Community College, along with members of the MiraCosta College Board of Trustees, past and present faculty and students, the Little Architecture Design Team and Barnhart-Reese Construction Team all joined in for the Groundbreaking Ceremony for the Student Services and Administration Building at the San Elijo Campus. Douglas Barnhart, Chairman of Barnhart-Reese Construction, presented a ceremonial shovel to Sunita V. Cooke, Ph.D., Superintendent of MiraCosta Community College.

The Student Services and Administration Building will replace the existing Administration Building and consolidate key student services into a single location. The new 10,770 square foot facility will provide administration offices and meeting spaces that will improve the ability of staff to serve the student body, as well as gathering and socialization spaces. The new building is intended to provide a welcoming new gateway for the San Elijo Campus.
