Barnhart-Reese Construction teamed with Little Diversified Architectural Consulting for this Design-Build library in the Skyline-Paradise Hills community of San Diego, California.

The project vision for the 15,000 square foot building is “Dream, Hope, Inspire”; a theme that is carried throughout the library. The library includes a multipurpose/community room, outdoor patio, offices, staff lounge, and workroom, as well as special areas designated for children, juveniles, young adults, adults, and friends of the library. A family place center, study and tutoring rooms, and a computer lab are also available for patrons. The project is LEED Silver Certified with the USGBC, and was completed ahead of schedule.

Awards include:

– 2017 American Public Works Association (APWA) Project of the Year Award for Structures $5 Million to $25 Million.
– 2017 Unique Special Project Merit Award from AGC Build San Diego
– 2018 Construction Risk Partners Build America Award for Buildings Under $10 Million New Construction from the AGC.
– 2018 National Award of Merit – Civic/Assembly from Design-Build Institute of America
